I could have taken two but I didn’t know which one it was.

That was not as bad as several years ago; it took four of us to remove the lid for the juice. There was laughter. The worst was about fifty years ago. We were singing and something flew five feet from my mouth into a plate of crackers. I thought people would scream but no one noticed. I was given the plate. I felt like a zombie but there was no complaint. Thereafter the crackers were covered with a cloth.
Rex Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06976501582240117188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28605099.post-47629145120511224642015-11-06T15:29:07.711-06:002015-11-06T15:29:07.711-06:00Aussie J,

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect".

Only on Sunday?

I know from experience, and the comments of traditional church members, that there is a wide opinion that Sunday corporate worship services are worship, and the rest of the week is "my time". In other words Sunday is for my vertical relationship, and the rest of the week is for my horizontal relationships.

The way we live and relate to others is the evidence of our vertical relationship! ...Rex,

First, let me say thank you for commenting.

Second, I would assume when on a weiner roast with friends or family having great horizontal fellowship, my vertical relationship with God would not be non-existent. Likewise, I'm assuming when I'm with gathered believers on a Sunday morning having a great vertical fellowship with God, my horizontal relationships would not be non-existent as well. You would agree I'm sure.

Third, I'm hoping my post made clear that HAVING vertical or horizontal relationships is NOT the issue I was writing about. Which relationship is the purposeful emphasis of a gathered group of believers on the Lord's day is what my post addresses. THAT'S when the "one another" verses become the focus is what I was attempting to address. If I DIDN'T say that clearly I want to state it now.

Finally, the context of the verse you quoted is probably NOT referring to worship, although I would agree with you that where ANY number gather His Presence is guaranteed. This verse, if I understand the context correctly, is a promise that when a Christian has a problem and needs to confront someone about it and finds the person confronted unwilling to deal with it and they have to take someone with them for another confrontation, they can rest assured that God is with them IN A VERY SPECIAL WAY!

Great promise! I've been able to rest on that verse several times when trying to solve problems between believers.

Again, thanks for commenting as always.Paul Burlesonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17021178307705707423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28605099.post-42493848857363205282015-11-06T02:38:11.204-06:002015-11-06T02:38:11.204-06:00Paul,
